What does it mean to you to be awarded a GoGirl grant?
I received the GoGirl Grant at a time in my life when I was just beginning to understand the power of girlfriends. The Girlfriend Factor has truly opened up another world of possibilities in the definition of sisterhood. As women we all share a common history and a bond of understanding. To me, the GoGirl Grant has taken the power of Girlfriends and translated it into a tangible difference in my life.
Describe your motivation and inspiration for continuing your education and career goals at this stage in your life.
I'm inspired by the Girlfriends who have chosen to support my efforts. Seeing so many successful women of all ages, shapes and backgrounds shows me that even when I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, there is a whole pack of Girlfriends cheering me on.
What advice would you offer other women who are considering going back to school to make a career change?
To other women considering returning to school I would say, listen to your heart. Sometimes our deepest desires speak in a very soft voice and are crowded out by all the noise in our lives. Don't let yourself or anyone else keep you from exploring your dreams.
