The first in her family to achieve any type of college degree, Shondra earned her AA degree from College of the Desert in the Spring of 2007. This Palm Desert, CA resident currently attends Cal State, pursuing a Bachelor's Degree as she aspires to be a special ed teacher. A single mother of 2 daughters, she currently works at the McCarthy Child Development Center.

What does it mean to you to be awarded a Go Girl grant?

Being awarded a Go Girl Grant has been inspiring. It also has changed my outlook on life. Knowing that unknown people are willing to support my educational goals is rewarding. These ladies have expressed emails, letters, and warm caring cheers to all my accomplishments.

Describe your motivation and inspiration for continuing your education and career goals at this stage in your life:

Just having someone who believes in you, and willing to follow up with a simple card or phone call to see how things are going and what can we do to help, is a reminder that The Girlfriend Factor are truly angels in helping others to achieve and believe in continuing education.

What advice would you offer other women who are considering going back to school to make a career change?

It's never to LATE! We all owe it to ourselves to be the best that we can be. Get involved, get motivated, Get started!!!You can do it!!!!!!! Good Luck!!!! Thank you ladies!!!!!!
